Tax Filing Status (i.e. Resident/Non Resident) For H1B (After Completion of STEM Extension on OPT)

Hello Desi OPT Team,
I have been on F1 since 2009 and completed 27 months (inclusive STEM Extension) on OPT. My Status Changed from OPT to H1B on 1st October 2014.
Considering the above situation I wanted to know whether I am considered a Resident/Non Resident for Tax Purposes while filing taxes this year.

Because you were mixed status last year, your tax return may also be “mixed”. Speak with a CPA and don’t rely on answers in a forum. Failing to file taxes properly can have serious repercussions on future immigration benefits.

If you have been on F1 status for 5 years or more, you will be considered a resident alien. If not and if you do not qualify the substancial presence test for 2014, after H1b became effective, you will be considered a non-resdient for 2014 tax purposes.

Does that mean we need not maintain any status to work like H1B or an Opt ?

Hi,I just want to know whether we become a permanent resident as you people commented.That is confusing me.So If I study in the Usa for 6 year's suppose(M.S+PhD).Then would I be considered a permanent resident of that country and so would I need any other status to work full-time ?
