H1b approval lost

  • H1b approval lost

    i had lost my h1b approval while it was being sent from my employer to me in a mail.
    My question is
    1)will copy of h1b is enough for going to stamping and coming back to USA or I need to have the original
    To apply for original it takes 6 months of time.
    Can any one please help me with any info

      A copy should be sufficient as the Consulate can check the status of your application status in PIMS. However, you should provide them with some proof that the H-1B was actually lost. It can be the tracking information and/or letter from employer or delivery service, confirming that the package was lost.

          1. Copy of H1b is enough for visa interview but u need to have original at the port of entry is what i am aware of
          2. I think u can get it quicker .. I mean with expedite request

          I would advise u to post the same question in murthy forum to get more details or talk to your company attorney

            I recently come on HIB and they didn't ask about approval copy of HIB at JFK.

              Its the other way around. Original is must for stamping. But at port of entry they usually dont ask for anything. At-least i wasnt asked for anything.

                Original is required during visa interview and also at port of entry.

                  For me they attached the duplicate copy for VI. No1 cared for the original one.
                  Also, at least at SFO neither me nor any of my friend was asked for that doc. All you need is your Visa.
