  • Urgent advice needed.

    Hello all,

I completed MBA in May 2014. I joined ABC consultancy in CA,got placed through them on a project, i worked for around 4 months as a BA,then the project got over. Now my consultancy is still marketing me but no luck for a project yet. As i have my Opt valid only till June 9,2015. I have to file for my H1-B in April 2015,Since i am on bench now my consultancy says if I get a project then only they will sponsor me. In between as i have recruiting experience in India i am getting a job as a Technical Recruiter in XYZ consulting company, XYZ promises me to file for my H1b April 2015 but the pay is very less (3k monthly). So my questions are:
    1) Is it good to go as Technical Recruiter with XYZ.
    2) what are my chances of H1-b as a Recruiter?
    3) What are the questions i should ask the XYZ company?
    4) Or should i wait for my ABC company to fetch me a IT project.
Since the H1-b petitions will start soon and i have no leads yet, i am very much confused. Please help.
    Thanks in advance!

Technical Recruiter is not a great H-1B job, and it’s best you keep looking for a job. Also, if you are benched, you are accruing unemployment time. You only have 90 days of allowed unemployment. If you accrue too much unemployment, it will be a problem for the H-1B.

Go with XYZ first as a part time so your pay won't matter. And have ABC stand by once they get ur a project, use ABC to file H1B instead, if time allows still
