H1B Process+Timeline

Hi Everybody,

Please help me. It is very important for me. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I am currently working in US with my OPT. My OPT card will expire on August 13,2015. On April 1, 2015, my company is planning to apply to H1B for me. I have absolutely no idea about H1B process!!!

I remember that the OPT procedure has a 3 month of an application process timeline. I expect that H1B process will be more complicated and much longer. Can you provide me some information about followings:

1) What are the steps that I and my company should take before applying H1B?
2) What is the safe staring time to take those actions? (Total timeline from the first day to last considering the company and I didn't do anything yet)
3) What are the important things that I should know?
