  • Incorrect I-94 on I-797 approval notice

    Hi,

My H1B approved last week when I got my approval notice , I realized that Incorrect I-94 has been mentioned on my I-797 form.

I went to India in sep 2013 got I-94 as xxxxxxx and I went to India in march 2014 and got I-94 as yyyyyy but in my I-797 form i-94 xxxxxxx as been mentioned instead of yyyyyy.

Is there going to be any problem because of that and how to get it corrected ?

I would really appreciate anyone help on this !

Your I-94 number on an approval notice is supposed to be the most recent I-94 number. It might be the old one if you or your attorney didn’t submit the new I-94 record from March. You should speak with your attorney to see if there should be any concern (there shouldn’t be).

@ Chandu....I believe, reader's I797 Approval Notice is updated with Wrong I94 number and their concern was will it be a problem if they returns to INDIA with this wrongly updated I94 - I797 Approval notice.

I got my I-797 approved (2015-2018) but the I-94 was from 2009-2012 (I-94 1234xxx) instead of from 2013-2015 (I-94 7654xxxx), so I was not able to get the driving license and issued me a USICS-SAVE ticket.. SAVE took 3 days and updated their system with the old I-94.. and today I got my driving license.. So the moral of the story is ... You dont need to worry about what the I-94 number is on I-797 as long as they can update their system with the I-94 issued.
