Hi,
My name is Harman and I am looking for some guidance. I am currently on OPT STEM extension valid through Dec, 2015. i have also attained H1B in this year April which is on a cable notification for consular mode and not change of status for October 1st 2014, becuase i had extra year of STEM Opt available. I also have the H1B I797 approval letter with me. Now, I have received another job offer whereby I am trying to transfer( aka new h1b petition) and plan to work on STEM OPT. can my new employer file a new petition of h1b with same consular mode of starting date of Oct 1st and have me started on stem opt in August 2014. I am hearing mixed reviews where folks are saying I can do it since i have valid opt till next year, while others are saying its risky and USCIS can revoke my h1b. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
