I am a masters students currently doing CPT. I am hired by an agency but work for another company. The agency pays me by week. I did not notice that I can only work for 40 hours in the first place and my manager approved my overtime. Yet, on my contract with the agency it says that I am not eligible for the hours bonus. I have been doing this internship for 8 weeks, 4 of which I filled out the overtime.
Now I am worrying that this overtime might affects my F-1 status and future H1B application. What should I do now? Should I talk to the agency, or my manager? Should I tell my advisor at school? Or will I be punished because I violated the contract?
Could somebody give me some advice? Thanks a lot for your help!
