Passport Lost With H4 Visa and H1b visa is currently in processing

Hi DesiOpt.com,

I am very much grateful for your help in answering my queries during my stay in USA.

I am currently on H4 visa and I have lost my passport with valid H4 visa stamp. I recently applied for a new passport and received it last week. I have been sponsored H1b visa this April and it is currently in processing. Could you please help me with the below queries?

1. Should I report USCIS about my lost passport at this time or wait until my visa is approved?
2. My new passport has Last Name changed because of change in marital status. Since my Last Name changed, will there be any problem when I report USCIS about the lost passport along with name change?

nope.. once u get the approval.. apply for the new passport.. take the photocopy of old passport with ur new one to go for stamping
