F2 to H1

Hi,
I recently came to US on f2 status,and i had applied for H1B under regular processing. I have not heard any thing about my application. I lost my hopes on H1 by now.
My questions are
1. what are the options for me to get selected for H1?
2. Does joining in an school can broaden my chances for selecting for H1?
3. I have my masters in information technology from UK, am i eligible for the day one cpt colleges?
