Information on STEM extension after Cap-gap has been applied
Hello,
I am reaching out to you because I have few questions regarding OPT and H1b visa. I am currently selected for the H1-b visa lottery and my application for I 129 is in process. I am employed under a company with my post OPT( graduated in May 2013 with Master's degree). My questions are as follows.
1) If I take cap-gap extension which covers my period from 17th june (OPT End date 16th june) to 30th sept. Can I file for Stem extension for my opt during the cap-gap period after my current opt has expired (16th june 2014) while my H1-b is still in process?
2) If my opt date is over(16th june 2014) and if I have cap-gap extension applied to my sevis and if my H1-b visa is revoked/denied in any case do I still have a grace period and a chance to apply for STEM extension?
I read in this document in section 9 about 10 days timeline to apply for STEM, but I want to make this issue clarified from your end.
