TN (Canadian) to H1B or GC pls help

Hello Fellows,
I'm a Canadian citizen and working in US on TN work permit. want to proceed for GC and my employer is ready to help me out.
I've seen on web that people have done from TN to H1B then GC, but there are few cases which are done from TN to GC directly.
my employer said that they can't guarantee for anything except submission of application. pls assist me if someone know the process or success rate of this activity.
