i am on F1 Visa with OPT extension Valid till 07-02-2014. I got H1 B approval. can I travel to India and return on F1 Visa before 06-10-2014.generally for how many days of STEM extension are to be remaining for returning on F1 with stem opt . my F1 visa is valid till 12-30-2014. i am taking vacation. i will be returning on job. what will be duration of status on my new i94. how does it effectt my cap gap benefits, anyone in same boat?

It is not recommended to travel to India once your H1B is approved. Please talk with your lawyer prior leaving USA. While applying to H1B, my lawyer mentioned me not to leave country with out a notice to them.Comment

2. You are in stem extension already and got your h1 approved so your h1 will activate from October 1st so until September 30th you are on f1 status and from October you will be. In H1B status .
3. It is not applicable to you now.
