  • H1B Approved! Need to apply for OPT extensioin?

    Hi All,

I got my H1B approved which will be effective from OCT 1. I'm on first OPT period which is going to end on June 30. So my concern is the span between the end of my OPT and the start of my H1 B.
Do i have to apply for my OPT extension?

I already contacted my University reg this they said that my SEVIS got updated from USCIS automatically extending it to SEP 30 from JUNE 30 which is my OPT end date.

Also, when asked whether i should apply for OPT extension or not, they asked me to contact employer attorney.

Can you guys please help me out on this ASAP as i am already nearing deadline to apply for OPT extension.

    Thanks.

thanks.. Just to conform even if we want to be on safer side, Is it fine to apply for OPT extension? Two activities at the same time on a single account??

Get cap gap i20 to cover gap between opt and h1. That's all about it... the i20 should have ur employer details
