Hi, I have done my masters and I am waiting for my H1 B decision. It has been 12 days after the lottery already, if my H1 B was picked up, would there be any activity at this time on my SEVIS, and would my school DSO be able know about it? I emailed her regarding that and she said that there is no change in my status, or she does not see any activity, does that mean I did not get selected in the lottery and the rejection mail is on its way?

Yes your college will know immediately if status changes, don't loose hopes, last year some candidates got to know after 1 month (regular) that he picked.Comment

School won't knw anything till oct 1 when your status actually change to h1 from f1 so don't worry about and hope for the best.Comment

For people whose opt is valid until or after Oct...sevis won't update. They will update only for students whose opt is expiring before Oct...it's usually called cap-gap extensionComment

For the members whose H1 got picked in the lottery, the receipt number ihas been added to their Sevis record so your DSO will be able to know it ! Check with your employer as well as with your DSO !Comment

1) no 2) yes, if it is picked your school DSO can see that your H1B is processing in the USCIS portal in which they have access to update certain fields, but most of the time they will not reveal it. 3) it doesn't mean that your h1 is not picked in the lottery, so wait for this week and next .Comment
