  • Process of filing H1B: My employer is sponsoring for the first time

Hello,I am currently on my OPT extension status. I have to apply for h1b in next April. My employer has not sponsored any of his employee before. So he will be going through all the H1B process for the first time. I have come to know that if an employer is sponsoring any employee for the first time, he has to go through some procedure before he can file h1b application. Does anybody have any idea about the procedure in this case? Thank You.

There is no special procedure for an employer sponsoring an H-1B employee for the very first time. The employer will go through the very same procedure as any other employer. However, the process can be complicated and very overwhelming especially if the employer has never filed an H-1 petition before, so it would be a good idea to work with an immigration attorney to prepare and file the petition and to ensure that the employer is in compliance with all the H-1B regulations.
