My OPT is expiring in 6 months and i want to file my case for GC before that, will I get any extension on my current status while my case is still pending? Sensible answers are much appreciated....Thanks

You don’t get an extension of your current status. You will need to file the I-130 and the I-485. The I-485 will give you “authorized stay” once your F-1 status ends.
You might want to speak with an immigration attorney before embarking on the process, even if you decide to file the application by yourself.

It's not a red flag, as long as you are living together and can show history of dating and are showing enough time living together. Ask me, I went through this experience. Red flags would be: 1) not living together. 2) visa expiring today, getting married the next day and applying for gc the very next day after marriage. 3) not knowing each other well and a short courtship. 4) financial dependency of one on the other.
