3 courses per semester or 18 credits per year for F1 Visa maintenance ?

I am in my second year of masters and have 14 credits left to graduate yet. I started working at a firm and want to manage course work and work and also pay my tuition. What is the minimum number of credits we need to take to maintain student status? Is it 3 course registrations per semester or 18 credits per year? Kindly help.

I believe it is 9 credits per semester, at least thats what I am told

For a full time student, minimum number of credits we need to take is 9.

It is 9 credit hours per semester (which may or may not be 3 courses - being said that most courses will have 3 credit hours each, some might have 4 credit hours)
