Hello,
I received an RFE for the application i539 for change of status from f2 to f1. Please help me in understanding the rfe. My husband was on opt when I applied for the change of status in July and he got his stem extension in October.
"The record as submitted does not contain a properly submitted form I20, Certificate of Eligibility for Non Immigrant Student Status, or your dependent status. Submit the appropriate Dependent copy of the form I20 for each person included in your application with dependent status".
The following is my timeline
I539 application received by USCIS - July 18,2016
RFE Date - Dec 2, 2016
These are my questions
1) When I submitted for change of status, the f2 I20 had validity until August. My husband got his stem extension in October and a new I20 was generated for me. Is the USCIS asking for my updated I20?
2) My husband's H1b is under processing. Suppose if his H1b is approved what would happen to my case as its still under processing?
3) What documents do I have to submit to the USCIS with reference to my RFE?
