Iam on F1 , I want to travel to India on Dec 10 th. My dso is saying that earliest I can leave is 12th dec even though 11th is Sunday. But I booked my tickets on 10 th dec my dso is saying he will not authorized my travel before 12th. He will only authorize travel from 12th dec -16th jan. Iam travelling from 10th dec-17 th jan. Will it be a problem if I travel on or after the dates in my I20 travel authorizations.

For sure it will be , every thing gets updated. Dont think about the flight tickets that you purchased already it will just cost you some 200 - 300$ to change the dates. Make sure your travel dates lies inbetween the DSO authorized dates . Like oafter 12th Dec and before 16th Jan I'm saying again before 16th Jan. Dont get screwed later by thinking about simple 300$ you loose for now.

It's not a problem you can travel just we need sign from DSO
And we have to make sure with dates is that school going to open on this dates or not

10 people here may tell you 10 different things. At the end of the day if you get in trouble by not following what your school says then no one from these groups would be able to help you. So just think of your career and do the needful.
