OPT, H1B cap gap

Hello!

My OPT STEM extension expires on April 14th, 2016. My employer will be filing an H1B petition on April 1st with premium processing. My question is:

Considering I may not be able to know the selection status of my petition in the lottery by April 14th (even with premium processing), will CAP GAP apply to my case until I know if my petition has been picked up?
My main concern is to continue working during the bridge time from April 14th to the date my petition selection has been confirmed. Please advise.

Feedback on this would be very much appreciated.
