Lost passport & f1 visa

Hello,

I lost my passport & visa, i made a police complaint i got new passport from SFO now how should i get my visa stamp in my new passport. do i need to go back to India or can we do here! how should i change my i94 status with my new passport number! can you plz give me some information regarding this issue.

no need of a stamp if you are in usa when u go to india you need stamping .once you go to india still you can use the old i94 i think that u can retrive from web using your old passport number

You have to get a stamp when you go to India. You cannot get a stamp inside US but you can stay in US without any issues. You cannot change your existing i-94. You can only get an updated I-94 automatically when you re-enter United States.

You are in the U.S. in valid F-1 status. You don’t have to get a new F-1 visa until you have to travel. The copy of the visa are not required for OPT or SSN. Hopefully, you have a copy of the visa. Otherwise, a copy of the I-94 record of your F-1 entry, I-20 and passport should be sufficient (along with explanation that previous passport with F-1 visa stamp were lost and copy of police report). SSN only requires the OPT card.
