Travel back to US with valid visa while on 221g

I am a PhD student. I received 221g green slip (stating visa was refused under 221g) for first time applied for F1 visa in June 2012. It took almost a month to get visa. Now my visa is valid till May 2016. I came to india to renew it and again got 221g green slip (stating visa is pending under 221g) on Dec 17th. My return date to US is Jan 7th. Visa officer didn't take my passport. So I do not have any CANCELLATION stamp on my passport. My question is - can i return back to US on my existing visa while I am on 221g administrative processing? will there be any issue at immigration check?
