F-1 Visa out of status

Hi, I am F-1 Student. Due to unavoidable circumstances, I had to go to india during one of my semester and had an I grade for a subject. How ever, after returning I had spoken to my advisor and prof regarding the situation and took time to complete the I grade subject. While I was completing the subject, i was given a W grade for that subject and I did not check the grade until recently. Because of the W grade will I go out of status? (W grade was for one of the three subjects I had taken during that semester.
What are my chances of being out of status and what are the options now possible to overcome this?
I have contacted my DSO, and they said they will let me know if I am out of status. Will it be possible for the school to change my grade to F grade so that I do not fall out of status?

1) out of status : no
If ur gpa is above 3.0 (2.0 for undergrad) you are okay
Is your school suspending you?

2) school cannot change ur grade. Your professor can.

unavoidable circumstances, may mean someone might be ill in the family.

F- is Fail, and W- is withdrawn and retaken ( in my college). W is better then F. talk to ur DSO as things vary from college to college & state to state.

i bet this same guy will eventually not be able to get a job, but will want h1b and will file 10 h1b petitions thru 10 desi consultancies with fake jobs and get h1b.

I think having 2 courses doesn't make him a full time student, but im not sure you will be out of status bcoz many students under probation are compelled to take less than 3 courses on a regular sem
