lostindian passport us visa

I am a F1 student in from houston.i have lost my passport in february.i have applied for a passport at houston.should i go to india back to repply for the visa . I am left with 1 course to complete. I am in a dilemma of comleting the course in summer semester or fall.will it be possible for me to apply visa again during my opt or should i apply for visa in summer and graduate in fall semester. could i apply for visa from canada

Firstly, as long as ur in US it should be fine without visa. Only u need it when u want to reenter US.
