reinstatement issue

I am MS student (F1) of an US university. Last fall, I was suspended for one semester for disciplinary issue. Now, I am in India. My suspension will be finished on 18th May. Then I want to return university. I left only thesis. After finishing my suspension, I have to request for new I20. As I am in India, I have to pay for new sevis (as reinstatement is not possible). Now, my question is that:
1. Should I go for visa interview again? (my visa is valid till more 3 years)
2. With new I20 and sevis, when I ll reach port of entry, should officers make any trouble? If so, how can I overcome them?
3. In the total process, is there any risk factor? If yes, how can I overcome?
4. Reaching there, can I apply for PhD?
5. Any problem may occur in future?
6. Any other suggestion?

U need to attend for visa interview and u need to pay sevis as it changes jus check ur i20 and der Vl be no problem at port of entry

I dont think you need to go for visa, if you have valid visa, you can enter US on different i20. I saw many people coming back on different i20's.

U need to attend visa interview for sure.
If u stay out of US for more than 5 months your status is gone so u need to attend visa interview with new I20 and u should pay the sevis fees .

i think no need to go to visa interview again as you have a valid visa the status will be gone with the new i20 you will get the status.check with the attorny once to be on safe side
