  • out of status (f1)

hi i have an issue. i lost my f1 status recently . I am not able to think properly . i have been given suspension for an year so i cant rejoin my university . i am trying to apply to other universities . Even if i apply for another university and get an admit i have filein for reinstatement for F1 status . USCIS might take 2-4 months for the decision . If it takes more than that and decision is not in my favour (not coverting to F1) then i would be in deep trouble . By then i would be staying more then 5 months illegally in USA. This could to lead to a decision of 3 - 10 year ban on me for not entering USA. Can u people please help me out what to do .
can u give any suggestions for reinstate of f1

You may be out of status, but you may not actually begin accruing unlawful presence until USCIS actually makes a decision on the reinstatement application. That means, it is unlikely you will be subjected to the bars. However, you really need to see an immigration attorney immediately who can advise you whether or not reinstatement is even possible. Depending on the reason for your suspension, getting a reinstatement may be very difficult.

There is no need of travelling out of US as you have applied for reinstatement. Because, it does not mean as you are out of status. You can be in country till u get decision from uscis. For any such queries, u can call uscis and get clarified on ur questions.

                              Hi,
Could you give us more information on exiting and reentering with new i20? Does going to mexico and coming back activate the SEVIS? Or do I get a new I94 entry date when re entering through mexico?
                              Thanks
