F1 Stamping In canada While on OPT

Hi,

I need suggestion on following.

I entered US on H4 VISA and changed status to F1 after that. And I completed my Masters in Dec 2013. I got my OPT approved in May 2014. My F1 status I797 shows Valid for as "Duration of Status".

I want to visit Canada for F1 stamping now. Is there any risk going for F1 VISA stamping while on OPT.

I am in the same situation as you.
I have my OPT approved since May 2013 and recently had my STEM approval as well.

I am going to Canada early or mid sept. I recently received my canada tourism visa. I know a handful of people who went and were able to receive visa.

The key is having all documentation and staying positive. If you need a visa for canada then i would suggest start that process very soon as it takes 2 to 4 weeks.
When are you planning to go? I would like to stay in touch and keep each other updated.

For F1 stamping I think u can go to Mexico. U can check with others too I'm not sure 100%

Since you mentioned that you are on OPT, do you have a job?
It is safe to take a letter from your employer explaining your requirement for their company.
If you are not enrolled with any employer then it would be a risk.

yes.i am working right now.i have pay stubs also

It is not the pay stubs, better if you can have a letter which mentions your requirement to be back in USA.

This would be useful in worst case scenario
