Hi All,
I am confused about how to proceed for my F1 visa this year and appreciate inputs.
I was accepted to University of Cincinnati MS program last year and got my F1 visa approved for the same. But i did not join the university as I was unable to align my skills and expectations with course curriculum. So, I stayed back and am currently working in India. This year, i will be joining the MS program at University of Texas, Austin.
Now, The financial form from UT Austin asks for information related to current visa status of a student.
I need help to confirm what should i be putting in the below mentioned questions :
a> If you are already in the United States, indicate your current visa status - Do i need to mention the current visa status as 'F1' - i am currently not in US.
b> Will you transfer your SEVIS record from another US Institution? - For SEVIS record, as i did not join University of Cincinnati last year and will be requesting an update of my SEVIS in India, so do i need put in the details of University of Cincinnati for transfer of SEVIS record in the CFR form.
Also, can someone please confirm if my SEVIS for last year can be updated by the new SEVIS no to be provided in I 20 for UT Austin before applying for US visa again and the process for the same ?
