  • Dismissed from University, how to mention F1 status?

    Hello My friends,

I had joined USC in Fall 2012 for MS in Computer Science and I could not maintain a 3.0 GPA for 3 consecutive sems. I am currently dismissed from my University. My overall GPA is 2.67 and I have completed 20 out of the required 27 units. Since the classes are starting in almost all universities from Second week of Jan 2014, I was not able to transfer to any other University also. I am in a big trouble because I will loose my F-1 status if I am not enrolled at any University. If I loose my status ,I have to go back to India and apply to Universities again and also attend the visa interview once again. What can I do so that I do not loose my F-1 student visa status?

    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,

I would suggest you better get to another school where you can maintain status.. Look for any of the non-profit schools and dont go to for profit schools. PM me incase you need any help.

A simple option would be to enroll in a community coll or univ with rolling admissions. I'm not sure if ur planning to be a genuine student or exploit the F1 visa for employment.

Quickly apply for SCAD or any of the other colleges with rolling admission mentioned below and send your application materials.. Filling an admission application form takes only 5 mins. Then tell your DSO you are in the admission process to that university. You can stay in the States for upto 5 months on f-1 stauts if you are enrolling into another college. Your DSO would only have to uptdate the sevis and give you an updated I-20 while you are in the process of transferring to the the next college.

If nothing works and your main priority is to maintain status then contact schools which gives F1 for ESOL classes like English institutes. They are for profit so they will take you same day...

You should be able to find another university, but with 2.67 you probably going to get a conditional admission. You got to do better what's up with 2.67.
