Is it better to join PhD or consultancy?if I take STEM extension can I get back to PhD?when its better to take STEM extension?can I do part time PhD along with my job?I am F1 student and now on OPT.

Depends on your thinking...If you manage to end up with OPT after PHD and pursue H1 then its better to be with consultancy else if you OPT for GC with the help of a professor then its better to go with GCComment

1 hmm i am sorry about my criticism .. if u wish to do phd u would have find ans to this question by u r self ..
2 yes u can get back to phd even u are in STEM ..
3 applying for stem is better if u apply 3-6 months before u r end of OPT
4 if u are asking legal question then yes .. but to do job u have to have valid work permit ..practically it is very difficult to manage bothComment

If you certainly know you will graduate with a PhD then its ok to do that. But, you never know what options you have after PhD. Many go into teaching and you don't need to worry about OPT for teaching since all universities sponsor H1B.Comment
