Post Graduation F1-OPT 90 day extension: Volunteer Work

Hi,

I am on my post graduation OPT and my 90 day period is going to expire in 25 days whereas, I am actively interviewing with a few companies and am in the hiring process. How can I extend my OPT through volunteer work to still be legally eligible for the opportunities that I am already pursuing? How should I try to get volunteer work?

You need to be working for at least 20 hours per week for the volunteer work to be counted as employment for the OPT. You could look around the faculty to see if there are opportunities for unpaid work connected with your academic discipline, or check notice boards and the local paper for local volunteering opportunities.
