You'd need a Canadian visitor visa and you need to get your I'20 signed by your DSO at International Office. And it goes without saying that you need to carry all necessary immigration documents.

Hi you can travel to Canada with your f-1 visa. Even if your f-1 visa expires you can renter through Automatic Revalidation

{What is Automatic Revalidation in short?

In short terms, Automatic Revalidation is to allow certain non-immigrants to admit at the U.S. port of entry even though they hold an expired nonimmigrant F/J visa, but have a valid I-94 form and returning to the U.S. from one of the U.S. neighboring countries listed by the DHS within 30 days of their departure, with conditions applied.

Many of the F and J non-immigrant visa holders do not know about the Automatic Revalidation provision they could use, even though they have their visa expired. OPT and OPT Extension cases also fall under the Automatic Revalidation provision category

Yes you can travel but make sure your visa is not expired and also carry all the documents as they had asked me to show the previous i20 which I took transfer from and they even asked that my visa have xxx university and asked how come I graduated from yyy univ

Hi, I am on a F1 visa and was wondering if visiting Canada for a couple of days is fine. Just wanted to confirm before getting stuck in Canada and writing a post saying "Don't cross the US border on a F1 visa!!" So if you guys have any info on this I would truly appreciate it.Thanks
