  • In CPT-Going back to India for good?

    Hi,

I've completed my MS and have applied for H1 in all attempts possible in OPT but in vain. My OPT expired last month and currently have applied for college and in CPT to save my status. My current project is ending this month too.

With the budget in front, College fees,living,H1 fees etc, I think I cant make it. So I'm planning to go back to India and explore opportunities there. My future plan is to apply for H1 for 2017 and come back.(Dont know how to apply for H1 from India like we do here)

Please advise me on my plans or any other solutions to me.

    Thank you

Join some consultancy in CPT, to get some extra money, and apply for h1 next year. If you go back to India it might be difficult in case you want to come back- as you never know how many people apply next year

I understand you would like to work here but why do a second masters just for work authorization when you have no interest? And you cant apply for H1 for yourself, you need to get a job first and an employer is the one who has to sponsor you, just like how your school sponsored your F1. If you are from a STEM background you have better chances too in the lottery when you consider the competition from the IT bodyshops. I would suggest that you not get into the day one CPT as suggested by some here if you dont see the purpose of another degree in your career.

with the masters degree you have, you can apply H1 even from India but you need to have the support of consultancy
