Can I apply for OPT while working on CPT in my final sem?

HI,

I have a question whether I'm eligible to apply for OPT while working on CPT in my last semester.

I heard that we cannot apply for OPT until out CPT program ends. DID anyone applied for OPT while working on CPT...please it urgent

And also do we need to have a payroll running on my social security while we are on cpt?

Yes you can, as long as your CPT was less than 365 days and you do not have any coursework other than your thesis.

Abbas Hyder that is the rule. You are ineligible if you have continuous 12 months of CPT. Not my experience but i know few of my friends who worked on CPT and applied for OPT with only thesis pending.
