  • On CPT, F1 Expired, Need to go to India, Need your help :(

    Hello All
First of all i would like to say thanks to all the members of this community who are helping students with their great suggestions.
I'm doing MBA in IT from Goldey Beacom ofcrs to maintain my status.. I'm willing to go to India as it is my sister's marriage which i don't wanna miss..
    1) My student visa is expired and i'm on CPT, is it safe to go back to India and come back on the GBC's I20?
    2) can i get my student visa Stamped here in US itself?

Please please help me out and suggest me how can i make a trip to India, I don't wanna miss my only sister's marriage.

    Thanks to All

You must do stamping in India before you can return.
Generally, if you are only doing CPT and are not enrolled in classes, it’s harder to get the visa unless you can show that you must work in order to get the degree (you may need a letter from your DSO or degree program director). You want to show them that unless you return to U.S. you won’t be able to graduate and get the degree. Also, as the school is a lesser known institution, you will need to bring lots of documents to show that it’s an accredited school (go online). Many officers don’t want to give visa if they don’t recognize the school; they are suspicious about whether or not it’s a real institution. There are definitely risks in going, but I guess you have to decide whether going to your sister’s wedding is worth the risk or not.

U need to get your stamping
Visa is a travel document so It cannot be done internally if you travel outside the country you will have to have this visa to come in to the country so no choice visa stamping is a black box all the best
