Hi,
I am working through a consultancy for my internship (CPT). My university permits me only 40 hour per week cpt during Summer which I am currently working in Client's place. And during Fall 2014, I am eligible for 20 hour per week Internship. However I am working on a live project and there is no way the client would let me work for just 20 hours per week. Also the client doesn't know that I actually go to University. I have no money to pay for tuition fees, so this job is the only means for me to make money and pay for my tuition.
My consultancy suggested me that I continue working 40 hours , submit 40 hours of timesheet with Client, my consultancy would only run payroll for 20 hours but with twice the salary amount per hour. Assuming now am paid 30$ per hour, once my 20 hour cpt begins, the consultancy would run payroll for 60$ per hour in total for 20 hours. However my worksheet( not automated) with vendor would say that I worked for 40 hours. Will this be a problem when it comes to OPT, or USCIS. I know it is risky, but speaking from logical perspective, is it possible. I am pretty sure that I can balance my school and 40 hour work.
My Qs:
1) Will the immigration or school authority find the discrepancy between timesheet entry and payroll?
2)What are the other risks involved?
Would appreciate all the valuable suggestions and warning.
Thank you.
