Usage of CPT for 11 months

Hi ,
Firstly I am thankful to Desi OPT for providing this platform.I regularly follow Desi OPT and this site helps me a lot to keep me updated about CPT,OPT and H-1 B related topics.You guys are doing a wonderful job.

I came to States in Fall 2012 and I am doing my masters in CS ,I did my summer internship for 2.5 months,I am currently looking for a full time job.I recently got an internship in ***** and they want me to work on CPT till December.My Concern is that I have already used my CPT for 2.5 months,If I use my CPT till December I would have used my CPT for 11 months .Will it be a problem If I apply for OPT.

People say that if you use your CPT for more time you want get your OPT and also there will be a problem in STEM Extension.

if you use full time cpt for more than 12 months then u r not eligible for opt ..use combination of pre-opt and cpt ..

nothing will be a problem, You can use your CPT for 12 months period and then onwards you are not eligible for OPT. So better plan to work for 11 months in CPT and then apply for OPT.

As per ICE guidelines: If you have 12 months or more of full-time CPT, you are ineligible for OPT, but part-time CPT is fine and will not stop you from doing OPT.
