H4 to F1 stamping in India when Spring session in progress

    Hi all,

I started my program on H4 visa status in Fall 2017. I had applied for COS on Aug-2017 at VSC. But the COS is taking a very long time. Now I have decided to goto India for stamping in the month of April. I have a very good summer job offer from a very big firm and I do not want to miss the opportunity. Please guide me with (links to) previous experiences.

using which university are you going for F1 stamping? If it is any day 1 CPT university your chances of getting a F1 visa is very less. Also you need to be on F1 visa atleast for 9 months before you are eligible for CPT, this rule applies to day1 CPT.

No problem in middle of semester. How are you going to work without CPT in may ? You need to study on F1 visa for 9 months before being eligible to get CPT.

No you need to complete two long semester in F1 visa. Please confirm with DSO.

To be eligible for CPT employment:
You must have been enrolled in school full-time for one year on valid F-1 status
The CPT employment must be an integral part of your degree program or requirement for a course for which you receive academic credit
You must have received a job offer that qualifies before you submit your CPT authorization request
Your job offer must be in your major or field of study

Hi, Is it really okay if we go for f1 stamping in the middle of semester? My college starts on sep 4th. We applied for canada visitor visa today. It might take 3 weeks to receive the visa. I'm not sure whether i get the visa slots before the start of my semester. So just want to confirm whether we can go for stamping out of country in the middle of semester.? Do we have any articles regarding that?

    Thanks in advance
