Post Entering US on OPT without EAD Card

I finished my graduation on August 4th in US and now I am in India. My OPT card got approved today and its start date is August 20th. My EAD card will be mailed to my University and they will most likely receive it next week. My fulltime job starts on August 22nd.

    1. Can I enter back to US on OPT without having original EAD card in hand? I will have updated i-20 with company name on it, offer letter, passport with valid visa on it.

    Thank you in advance!

No. You need to have both EAD and I-20 to enter US.

Could you ask your university to mail you a photo of the OPT card? I was in same situation. I showed a picture of my EAD card to immigration officers at the airport. I was allowed to enter
