Will My h1b decision effect my OPT

Hello I am currently on Stem OPT valid till 2019. I have to travel to India for some emergency issue and my h1b is still pending. Taking this scenario I would like to ask few questions

    1. If My h1b is approved after I come back from India in November then I will lose my OPT right?
    2. If My h1b is denied in November assuming I will hear by then . I will still be on my OPT since it is valid till 2019.

    Thanks.

    1. Usually when you are out of the country while h1 is under processing, it could led to denial or RFE and could complicate case. So it's suggested not to travel.
    2. Yes, you will be on opt if your h1 gets denied.

Leaving the country has nothing to do with h1b's decision . His change of status only will get cancelled
