Travel to India for F1 stamping

My wife is an Indian national travelling from USA to India in November via London. She came to US on an F2 - Visa with stamp expiry date in December 2019. However, she changed her visa status while she is in the USA to F1. Now she wants to travel back to India to get her visa stamped.

From what I could see in online posts, british airways does not allow people with expired visa stamp to board their flights. However, my wife's visa stamp is still valid but her status is different. Her layover in London is close to 5 hours. I have 2 questions

    1. Will she be able to travel via london with her F2 - Visa stamp, though she changed her status to F1?

    2. Will she require a transit visa for travelling through London?

Please let me know. Appreciate your help in this regard!

    1. She can travel w/p issues.
    2. London is just a transit point. No visa required, unless you go out of the airport.

While going to home country, there will be no problem and they don't check anything but while coming back , visa should be properly stamped and needs to carry all supporting documents. Good luck with your travel.

That isn't correct. For some airlines you require the country you are travel king from. In case of any emergency they would want to send you to country you started from, not your final destination.

If she has valid visa stamping she should be okay to leave the country through Brit or Europe. If people have 2 stops in Europe, then you should have valid status and visa too..
