Consulting firm threatening to file a lawsuit after end client asked me to join full-time

Hi there,

I joined a consultancy based in texas soon after graduating with an IT degree in 2019. They helped me find a job where I have been working for the past 1.5 years and also got my H1-B.

Now the Client company, where I was placed, told me that they were looking for someone for a full-time position. They offered me the job and told me that if I wasn't interested they'll have to hire a different person. Although I wanted to take the offer I decided to speak to my consultancy before agreeing to the offer. But my consultancy retaliated and told me that they will file a lawsuit against me if I decide to go full-time.

Given the present situation, I won't be able to find a job even though I leave the company. Do you think that I should take the company's offer?
