Stem opt travel outside usa

Hello,

My STEM OPT was approved on December 8, 2017 and the card was dispatched on December 12, 2017. However, the card was returned to USCIS as undeliverable on December 26, 2017. I have put up a service request on December 28, 2017 to resend the card and got a reply on Jan 2, 2018 that I will get the card within 30 days.

I had to travel to India urgently because I lost my mother. Now, I have not yet received the card.

Q1. Can I return to USA with I-797 receipt that mentions the case is approved with Valid From and Expires On Dates and I-20? or do I have to wait until I receive the card?

Q2. If I have to wait, how long can I stay outside USA on Stem OPT?
