Non-Compete contract with consultancy

Hi,

I was working with consultancy and got the full-time offer from the client so i took the offer and started working as full-time. Consultancy people are threatening me and sent me a legal letter saying i have breach the non-compete contract. However the letter is not from any attorney it was just from consultancy and stating i have cause $60K damage to them and have to respond them in 15 days of what information i have shared with client and what extend i have breach the contract. Can they do legal case against me? what should i respond consultancy?
