Opt extension pending. Can I enroll in new program?

    Hi guys,

Can anyone who was or is in similar situation can help me in understanding my options here. Your response is greatly appreciated.

    Initial opt expired: 2/6/2019
    Opt extension applied: 1/16/2019
    Received RFE: 3/28/2019

Am thinking of enrolling into a different program at the San university. I understand that Iíll forfeit my opt ext application if I apply for a new program but my question is,
    1) since am beyond my 60 day grace period after my opt expired and my new course starts in Aug 26 will I be considered out of status between 2/6 when my initial opt expired to 8/26 when my classes starts?
    2) I got admission letter but DSO is yet to give me new i20, I read somewhere that when my opt application is pending and if I apply for a new program then it has to be within the 60 day grace period. Is it true?
    3) will dso be able to enter the new dates 8/26 and generate my new I-20?
    4) will Iíve to go for reinstatement or travel out of US?

    Thanks in advance
