My wife is on a H1B status, and her current visa is valid till March 2019. She filed for an extension and her extension got approved. We travelled to India on Dec 15th 2018 for a casual visit and dropped the extension stamping required documents on Dec 22nd 2018. We didnt hear from the embassy till Jan 7th of 2019 and the embassy called her for an interview on Jan 24th 2019 and issued a 221g on her case and collected some documentation from her like client letter, employer letter and i-797 original and returned her passport back. Its been 5 weeks we didnt hear anything back from the embassy and she is stuck in India for almost 2.5 months since from she dropped her visa. Is there a resolution for us to contact the embassy and get this issue resolved soon. Please let me know. What can be done to resolve this issue?
