H1 stamping - passport expiry in 4 months

I am planning to go to India for my H1 stamping in February 2019. My passport expires in June 2019. Should I get my passport renewed before I go to stamping? or Is it okay to go to stamping with only 4 months left for passport expiration? Is it mandatory to have at least 6 months?
Please provide some info. Thank you.

In my experience even if the stamp has an expiry up until the petition end date, the I-94 (at the border) isn't issued for the entire duration of the petition. I could be wrong, but I don't think the VO grants you a stamp beyond the petition date.

If you're in the US (West coast) it takes less than a week to get it renewed, so I would highly recommend getting your passport renewed before going for a new stamp. Hope this helps, take care!
