Cover letter for F1 OPT to H4 explanation

Hello,
I am in F1 OPT. I was working for 7 months and my project got over. I want to change my status back to H4(I came to US on H4 visa and changed it to F1 while I was doing my masters) and apply for H4 EAD as well. I have prepared the necessary documents.

I would like to know what explanation should I give in my cover letter for the reason for change of status from F1 OPT to H4 ? Should I give reason for requesting H4 EAD as well ? Thanks in advance!

I guess there is no need of any cover letter for COS. And to get H4-EAD you just need to fill an extra form i765 along with COS form which is i539. You can apply for both H4 and H4 EAD at same time.
