Graduating June 2013. OPT ends June 2014. When should I file for H1B?

I am graduating in June 2013. If I start a job on contract for 1 year oin my OPT till June 2014, How will I apply for my H-1. What will I do of the GAP that is between june 2014 till April 2015 (when H-1 filing starts?)

You'll have to look for a an employer willing to file ur h1 in April 2014 ... And for the gap1)
Once u file for h1 I can work until u get the result of your application 2) if u r from STEM u can file for an extension of 17 months but that totally depends on whether ur company is E-verified or not.

You have to apply H1 in april 2014 if you are not STEM graduate. If you H1 gets approved by june 2014, then your OPT will get extended till you H1 starts(Oct 2014)

make sure you file for H1 in april 2014. you will get cap-gap extension from june to oct. you can work during this period.
